Nothing is more important than what we do for families, and my best role is one of advocate rather than legislator. Though I am not leaving the political arena entirely, I have decided not to run for re-election. Six years is a good run, and I am happy with what we accomplished.

I think it's time for new, reasonable and ethical leadership. Nevada GOP chair repeatedly takes the 5th in Jan. 6 deposition https://t.co/AyoPR0YzbY via @reviewjournal
Collaboration, not division, is the pathway ahead. This past session was totally controlled by partisanship, and it looks like that will continue for the time being. I pray those that will continue ahead will set aside party ideology to focus on the needs of our families instead.
I want to thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in helping get as far as we did. We enacted important legislation that improved the lives of every Nevadan; we made significant improvements to the law for parents and children caught in family courts.
I want to thank everyone who supported me along the way. I<U+2019>ve had the pleasure of meeting people I never would have met any other way. And to those who have been asking me to run for re-election, your confidence in me made this decision all the harder to make. Thank you!

Our bipartisan legislation helped save the lives of children caught up in human trafficking. We also came together on many occasions to pass bills related to schools and safety for our children. I am proud of the coalitions we created to make them happen.
