@JoshGrillsItAll Actually Josh, that is not the intent of the bill. It is to hold deadbeat parents responsible for the care of their children, without taking a thing from their custodial parent.
@JoshGrillsItAll Josh, under the bill the when a deadbeat parent who has the means to pay for their child’s healthcare is identified, DCFS could seek to have “child support” paid to the state to offset the state’s cost of providing healthcare through Medicaid. They would keep 15%.
@JoshGrillsItAll Josh, the proposal involves potential child support collected specifically to offset healthcare costs paid by the state. This in no way affects child support paid by one parent to another.
@JoshGrillsItAll Josh, the maximum that could be collected is up to 3% of total income. That limit is under current law.
