@justin_fenton I have been trying to get these laws reformed but the legislature doesn't seem to care and the lobbyists for the real estate interests have fought me at every turn. We are going to continue to have these problems until we get reform. There is a ton of campaign $ against reform.
@justin_fenton When researching this problem in my district, I found this piece written years ago. They pointed out that for decades, people outside the city owned these properties, which were going to hell even back then. https://t.co/WydQp0j0vg
@justin_fenton This is nothing new. Don't let the city lie, they know about it. It isn't the easiest thing to understand. However, anyone paying attention and talking to people in these communities can see clearly that they are being consumed by property investors.
Today I called for the resignation of Ben Grumbles, the Secretary of the Department of the Environment. The city is completely negligent. However, we cannot ignore the lack of accountability at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant as conditions spiral out of control. https://t.co/56xE7BIIWQ
I invited @GovWesMoore to testify on my bill to prohibit the use of arrest quotas in Maryland. We know that arrest quotas disproportionately harm minority communities. He wouldn't join me to support the legislation. It shows a clear sign of Wes Moore's lack of political courage. https://t.co/rdScfeKWAa
