I was deeply troubled today to learn that three of Central Ohio's most prominent elected officials, all of whom are African American, were maced by police during a peaceful demonstration outside Ohio's Statehouse.
By letting this deadline pass, they didn’t just ignore the Court’s order – they once again ignored the majority of Ohioans who overwhelmingly voted for the reforms to end gerrymandering in 2015.

We must have a much larger conversation about racism in Ohio, with everyone sitting at the table. We need to address inequality in our criminal justice system, but also in health care, education and housing, just to name several very important issues.
America lost a fighter for equality and justice, a pioneer for womens rights and a staunch defender of our democracy. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is truly irreplaceable, but her legacy will live forever in the remarkable progress our country has achieved under her tenure.
