I will work hard every single day to make Louisiana better but between violence in the capital city, gridlock, traffic and diminishing opportunities why would a young person stay? We better start collectively focusing on real issues before it<U+2019>s to late.

Today was my last day of session. I have been blessed to serve district 17 for over 10 years! It<U+2019>s bittersweet to leave but even the best things come to an end! It<U+2019>s been an honor to serve with so many wonderful people and something I will remember for the rest of my life! https://t.co/Vj00SAgBsG
What should be the most pressing goal(s) for the legislature? Should we focus on bills that follow national hot topics sure to grab attention or instead stay focused on what<U+2019>s really holding us back as a state. Sometimes they can overlap but most of the time they do not. #lalege
Is your mission as a legislator to be seen as the most Republican or Democrat, most Conservative or most liberal? The only mission that matters is doing your absolute best to be the most LOUISIANA you can be!
I have found myself really trying to pinpoint why the political world has decided latching on to the most divisive thing is the way to get elected/re-elected. At some point will we look around and see how unproductive we are and get back to work on things with tangible results?
Wishing my good friend @troyc4Congress the best on his journey forward to the big leagues of Congress. This picture was taken as we co-authored and passed a civility resolution calling on all members of the legislature to work together. I know Troy will continue this work in D.C. https://t.co/A3yUYAMwmh
You may not hear about it often but a lot of incredible people who care deeply about their constituents and the state work together in this building. Many different perspectives and ideas with one common interest, make the state the best it has ever been. #lalege https://t.co/HHsbwhPICT
I hope that at the end of this everyone gets to say leadership overreacted .That means everything turned out better than expected. The truth is we get to second guess decisions of officials who take measures never knowing what would have been had drastic measures not been taken.
I wonder if we have become so lazy in our thought process as a society that ABSOLUTES drive everything. Its so much easier (especially in politics) to just fall in line with always and never . No brain power required. Its the easiest path to nowhere.
Day 1 of session! Someone asked a while back if I still parked in front of the capital, and I answered yes and told them this. <U+201C>I like looking at the front of the building when I walk in. It reminds me where I am and what I am here to do!<U+201D>It<U+2019>s humbling to say the least. #lalege https://t.co/lOXHyDgAkt
