@thomaschattwill I am exhausted by hearing women talk about how downtrodden they are. If a man is criticized, it's because he deserves it. If a woman is criticized, it's because she's a woman, so it's not fair? Ridiculous. It is not so flagrant in France, as I well know, and you must as well.

@thomaschattwill Everyone on the thread seems to think that subject matter and life experience of characters are the only reasons literature is taught in schools. What about elegant, innovative, or compelling use of language? That's not something offered by commercial summary notes. Ignorant.
Happy to become a CT Justice of the Peace. Monsieur now calls me "Son Excellence, Madame la Justice". JPs can perform marriages, take depositions, issue subpoenas & quell riots! Little known fact: Laurence Olivier and his 3rd wife were married in Wilton by a JP! https://t.co/wGxhVHgw3C
A Wilton paper's print edition erroneously says there's a primary in August for the 143rd House seat I'm vacating in January. That is incorrect. The primary is for the 26th district Senate. Patrizia Zucaro is the ONLY Republican candidate for my House seat. I support her 100%. https://t.co/CuxGiSrAHd
I asked this question on the site. Interesting answers came back, including a reference to a NY Times article about Connecticut accents! Language is so much fun. https://t.co/qbbTQwUjCk
OUR DISTRICT MEANS A LOT TO ME. I TRUST PATRIZIA ZUCARO TO SERVE US WELL. I write to affirm my enthusiastic, unequivocal endorsement of Patrizia Zucaro for the 143rd district House seat, a seat I have held for the past 10 years. https://t.co/0VNwXfa2gD https://t.co/iem757mV3Y

@CaseyBuhr @thomaschattwill @CaseyBuhr, I didn't say I thought you deserved it. I meant that the ambient discourse would have us believe that men deserve criticism, but that women are criticized only because they are women. I just never heard anything so ridiculous. Sorry if I was unclear.
@AlexTaylorNews @claudebosi Et voil. Rien de nouveau. Nous savions toujours -- n'est-ce pas ? -- que les Britanniques ne savaient pas reconnatre la bonne cuisine. La preuve.
