So sad to hear one of the people storming the U.S. Capitol Building is a member of the WV House of Delegates. Derick Evans (R-Wayne) sent video of himself at the scene. Hope Speaker Hanshaw takes fast and appropriate action over this alleged criminal act. #politics #TrumpRiots

WV Delegate Derrick Evans (R-Wayne) has been charged with federal crime in connection with storming of U.S. Capitol on Wednesday. I am calling for his immediate resignation in order to save our state any further embarrassment from his actions. #capitolriots

Whew! Barely avoided another government shutdown by Republicans protesting vaccine mandates. Averted a disaster which would have been comparable to the shutdown in 2012 which was a temper tantrum against the ACA once again led by Ted Cruz. Unbelievable!

I am proud to announce I will be running for reelection in the newly redistricted 53rd District for the House of Delegates. My main issue is improving our education system which is a must to attract new businesses and people to the state. We have to stop diverting public funds!

Big day for labor. On his first day in office, President Biden fires NLRB General Counsel Peter Robb who is staunchly anti-union. This is great news for the workers of America who have seen their union rights erode severely over the past few years.#BidenHarris

Two more bad bills passed the House today. One will take money from public schools to give to students to pay for private school. The other allows contractors from other states to get licenses in WV even if they don't qualify here. Not good legislation for our working families.

Bad news with COVID-19 in WV...51 more deaths pushing the total closer to 2,000. Good news is 160,000 first doses of the vaccine with 40,000 fully vaccinated. Hopefully we are on the way to ending this pandemic! #covidvaccines

Another winter storm is approaching the region. Rain starting Wednesday afternoon around 2:00 PM in Charleston, changing over to snow by midnight. Look for 3-4" of new snowfall Thursday morning which will cause more school cancelations. Be careful! @jimbarachforhouse
