Laura Kelly has done nothing while a public safety crisis has been brewing. DUI wrecks and the high speed crash death toll rises with fewer troopers on the roads. We are top five in the nation for Highway lane miles. KHP support is critical to the safety of our citizens. #ksleg

The Eisenhower Legacy Highway Plan passed by House Appropriations on a 15-1 vote protects $100M in sales tax revenues to the Highway Fund, gets projects shovel-ready to take advantage of a federal infrastructure match, and fairly distributes funding across the state. #ksleg https://t.co/adTAukBVny

<U+0001F4FA>WATCH: The Kansas Highway Patrol has been decimated under the leadership of Laura Kelly. We must act now before it's too late. The cost of Laura Kelly's mistakes will be measured in lives. Stop the excuses. Hold leadership accountable. #ksleg https://t.co/fScurkFknz

When the Legislature convenes in January, I will propose a change to the structure of the Kansas Highway Patrol that will result in new leadership without the input of Laura Kelly. We will get back to a KHP that is capable of -- and focused on -- keeping Kansans safe.

The @KansasTurnpike has interoperability with the Florida Sunpass which is 1000 miles away. Yet Colorado ExpressToll with a new Denver I-70 tolled express lane half that distance from the turnpike, a neighbor state, and on the same interstate, requires a second tag. #ksleg

@RepHoheisel @SSullivan66610 @Woodard4Kansas Did someone say "vehicle tag?" https://t.co/aYb5GFxRtS

I have to imagine there are more travelers on I-70 who find themselves touching Denver and the Turnpike than Miami and the Turnpike. But that data is anecdotal since I<U+2019>ve never ever driven my vehicle ever to the state of Florida ever because that sounds like a nightmare drive.

I've been assigned budget subcommittees for Transportation, Corrections, Public Safety, Judicial Branch, and the Dept of Labor. The Transportation budget will be reviewed in Transportation committee, while the others will be reviewed in SWAM Subcommittees this week. #ksleg

"The excuses just simply aren't holding water," Claeys said. "We have another reason. And that reason is that the leadership has been failing at the Kansas Highway Patrol." https://t.co/wQ4BnIQETl #ksleg
