My bill, HB 443 Athletic Associations, brings choice to high school athletics, just as we offer choice in all other aspects of our children's education. Florida is one of the only states that has designated only one high school athletic association within state law.

I am about choice, choice for schools, choice for students, and choice for coaches. I reject "one size fits all" and a state-created monopoly. My bill ensures that students are in the best competitive environment to foster their own growth as individuals.
Most states offer multiple associations for the schools they serve. My bill adopts this approach. If an association complies with current state law on the health, safety, eligibility, and recruitment of athletes they can petition for designation as an Athletic Association.
