I have serious concerns with House BIll 1218, which prohibits any class, event, or activity that promotes “social justice for,” “solidarity of,” or “division between” races, genders, religions, social classes, or other particular classes of people. 1/

There is a lot of heartbreak in Springdale today. We need a hate crimes law that protects all, including transgender Arkansans, from hate-motivated violence. And we don’t need laws that permit & embolden discrimination against trans Arkansans. ❤️ to the family of Chyna Carrillo.

People can try to diminish and erase girls by calling us names. Well keep responding with dignity, bravery, and kindness. Thats what I want for my daughter and for every little girl in Arkansas. Voting is happening now. Dont be erased. Let your voice be heard.

Until liberty and justice is realized for all races, genders, religions, social classes, and other groups of our fellow Arkansans, we cannot be afraid to have the courageous conversations and meaningful experiences that will help us to learn, lead, and look inside ourselves. 5/

Anti-racism work is hard, messy, lonely, imperfect, heartbreaking, and perpetual. But it’s worth it. Celebrate all victories, no matter how small they may feel, until we have liberty and justice for all.

The good news is that there’s so much we can be proud of. During my two terms in the Arkansas House, I have diligently and fiercely advocated for the diverse voices of my community: 5/
