We shouldn't use the phrase 'save the planet' when talking about climate change and its impacts. The planet will be fine (for another 7-8 billion years, anyway). People, on the other hand, not so much. This is about saving ourselves and future generations. #EarthDay

My point here is the conditions that allow us to exist are incredibly fragile. We could all stand to appreciate that a little more and how our actions are putting those conditions at risk.
What's going to happen in 7-8 billion years? The Sun is going to enter it's red giant stage and engulf Earth's orbit. We're going to have to be gone by then one way or another because the sun's increasing heat will boil away our oceans in about 1-2 billion years.
