Today the House passed HB 91 which will significantly strengthen Delaware's consumer protection laws. I enjoyed working with @DE_DOJ on this effort. https://t.co/zX2FHu2g4I

Excited to team up with @DE_DOJ on legislation to strengthen Delaware's consumer protection laws. https://t.co/INB6caXqIc
This is very challenging to enforce as the state cannot be in all stores at all times. We're asking individuals to be responsible and do their part and we need businesses to do the same. Most of them are, and that's great, but we all need to be in this together.
I'll be joining Gov. Carney and other legislators in a Newark area Small Business Recovery Town Hall. Thursday, April 306:00 p.m. If you own a small business in the Newark area and want to participate, please email me for more information at: david.bentz@delaware.gov https://t.co/10D59VVybV
This reinforces the point that you should not be shopping unless it is necessary and you should only be purchasing necessary items. Unfortunately that might not include mulch and garden supplies from your local home improvement store despite their Spring Black Friday deals.
We're entering what is going to be the most challenging period of this situation and we need to increase our vigilance accordingly. Same goes for our retailers. I know this is challenging, but it is not a good time to offer promotional sales intended to draw crowds.
ACA open enrollment ends on 1/15. Enhanced subsidies included in ARPA and the Inflation Reduction Act have resulted in lower premiums, with as many as 5 million uninsured Americans qualifying for free marketplace plans. https://t.co/NKKBuh5myH
If you own or operate a business in the Newark area and would like to take part in the virtual town hall on April 30th at 6:00, please email me for more information on how to join. david.bentz@delaware.gov.
@__DavidJoseph If you see a store violating the emergency order, we ask that you notify law enforcement or the AG's office. On your other point, I worry about the retailers' ability to meet the demand that would be placed on them. They are already stretched very thin.
