Did you know that under current Kentucky law, veterinarians are prohibited from reporting suspected animal abuse? I've filed legislation to change that. #kyga2020 #HB108 #kyleg https://t.co/xBkocwvBtO

This afternoon I had the privilege of speaking at a rally hosted by KYians Vote for Animals, Paws 4 the Cause, and KY Coalition for Animal Protection, Inc. These organizations, along w/many other supporters & advocates, are fighting for better animal protection laws in our state. https://t.co/zjQxOGFdvz
I'm so honored to receive the 2020 Humane Legislator Award for my commitment to supporting animal protection in Kentucky! We are no longer dead last in state rankings thanks to the veterinarian reporting bill passing last year! I am determined to keep moving us up the list! https://t.co/5hSPftCcM4
Almost 40 other states have enacted "Cost of Care" laws - an individual whose animals have been lawfully seized due to cruelty may be required to pay for the animals' care. These laws save agency resources, taxpayer $, and animal lives. KYs animals deserve the same protection. https://t.co/KP9jaiDslp
Thank you so much to @LexingtonHumane for showing me around yesterday, and for introducing me to this sweet puppy! "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." -Gandhi https://t.co/bhW1BKBick
More than 30 other states have some form of 'hot car law' to protect animals from harm. It's time KY enacted the same. According to the American Veterinary Medical Assoc, the temperature inside a vehicle can easily rise to over 100 degrees within 20 minutes on a hot summer day. https://t.co/RgsIqgAU5g

This year during #KYGA20, I filed a bill to protect citizens if they rescue a dog or cat believed to be in imminent danger in a hot car. "Hot car laws" have been passed in 31 states and it is time Kentucky does the same. I'm so glad this puppy was rescued in time! https://t.co/Y60SXl0WVU
Kentucky has some of the worst animal protection laws in the nation. Join me in an effort to fix that by supporting this legislation! https://t.co/U2EtZOk5Kh
