Every day, on average, 7 Virginians pass away from drug overdose. I’m proud to stand with my colleagues in urging the Senate to pass legislation that allows prosecutors to charge drug dealers with Felony Murder when the user tragically passes away. One death is too many.
We must also hold drug dealers accountable for the growing number of overdoses across the Commonwealth. That is why I was proud to sponsor SB881 this session to charge drug dealers with felony homicide if their users overdosed.
