While on vacation, I’ve been re-reading one of my favorite books: The Divine Comedy—Inferno by Dante. If you’re not familiar with the book, it’s a true story of a young man’s journey through West Virginia politics. I highly recommend it.

Across the street from the bunker where Hitler killed himself is the official Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, Germany. The most somber moment from my visit to Central Europe was walking through this courtyard of silent concrete pillars that represents 6 million lost souls. https://t.co/pA7KOJGiXt
Today would have been Betty White’s 100th birthday. In honor of her lifelong love for animals, I donated to one of our local animal shelters here in the greater Charleston area. It always feels good to give back especially remembrance of someone like her! https://t.co/49mbYqDM15

Local journalism matters! Proud to join @dougskaff & other West Virginia leaders for the ribbon cutting at the new HD Media offices. They run several media outlets including the Charleston @wvgazettemail & Huntington @heralddispatch. https://t.co/xad6CaVojy

Wonder why West Virginia barns are painted red? Long ago, farmers painted their barns with linseed oil to seal the wood & keep it from rotting. Rust was mixed in to keep fungus & moss from growing which turned it red. Barns today are still painted red to honor of that tradition. https://t.co/MTnZ32Ve9D
In my home, I have an entire wall dedicated to West Virginia and her people. Over the years, I<U+2019>ve collected dozens handcrafted items from local artists at fairs & festivals, and it makes me proud to be a Mountaineer! Do you have any West Virginia themed art? https://t.co/zX4TMEAMOA
I’ve visited more than 35 states, but West Virginia is the most beautiful one. That’s why I plan to spend the summer traveling our state parks & historic sites. West Virginia has lost a hero with the passing of Woody Williams. Not only was he the last Medal of Honor recipient of World War 2, but he was also a personal friend of my grandfather. His legacy will never be forgotten. https://t.co/Ks0EhDvymb
