@NPR So its a period piece about romance , love, betrayal and redemption with the backdrop of the civil war to move the plot. The caricature representation of slavery actually helps explain how we got to today.
@NPR My mom was from the south. She took us kids to see the movie to show how the south used to be and she actually believed it. She never had a malice bone in her body but it shows how ingrained the #LostCause was for her generation. It must change for my kids. #BlackLivesMatter
