I also hope history remembers each member of the Legislative Black Caucus. For well over a half-century our African American colleagues have faithfully come into the House Chamber to represent their communities while under the shadow of a symbol that didn't represent them. (6/10)

After 38 years of serving Dist 69, my colleague, Rep. Alyce Clarke announced her retirement yday. Rep. Clarke, first African American women elected to #msleg, has served as a trailblazer to all women who came behind her. I<U+2019>m very grateful & honored to have served alongside her.

It always saddens me to see a woman pioneer leave us. Rest In Peace, Justice Ginsburg, a trailblazer and advocate for women.
