Republican MI Senate

Well, Michigan, the lame duck freight train is on the track! The Democrats want to shred your local control in favor a big special interest mining and oil operations in your backyard. HB6108 usurps all of your local control when it comes to slapping in gigantic mining and oil operations. HB 6108 overrides your local ordinances, imposes state regulations, and removes decision-making from local officials, turning it over to the infamous EGLE department! This bill preempts your local involvement unless an operation creates a “nuisance”, but even then, mining operators may still proceed despite objections from officials or property owners. Hopefully those who still believe in local control, working with those who do not want environmental damage slapped into their backyard, along with gigantic trucks ripping in and out of your community, giant spotlights, dust, dirt, and debris blasted all over the place. Please call your legislators and demand they vote NO, on this bill. Due to the mountain of cash behind it, it is lining up as a bi-partisan bill! A whole Lotta moolah behind is behind it!
