@MILiberals The founders talked about free K-12 education, not astronomically expensive associate, bachelor, graduate, PhD education. Also, the founders would’ve vomited at the thought of the woke indoctrination, thought-control entities that are producing degrees today.

I enjoyed debating my colleague from the other side of the aisle on child porn in schools and the Trump indictment. https://t.co/Ijr7JWaMjO
The Michigan education Association, the teachers union, the educrats of the state of Michigan, all will tell you, in no uncertain terms, that the reason educators are not wanting to go into teaching is because conservatives are trying to return to an emphasis on reading, writing, and arithmetic, and also not affirming the sexualization of children fast enough. Now read the Detroit News excerpts below, and you’ll see the real reason teachers are fleeing these careers or refusing to enter them.
Legislative Republicans held a press conference today to call out schools in Michigan, along with their Democrat enablers, who want to force girls to compete with male athletes and subject them to being terrorized by boys entering the girls’ showers. These democrats are beholden to a small group of far-left woke activists. They care nothing about kids and everything about their work special interest agenda.
Michigan, today we experienced a significant victory. The scheduled health policy hearing on Senate Bills 875, 876, and 877—proposed new vaccine reporting mandates for schoolchildren—were pulled after widespread public fury. We must remain vigilant, and I will certainly keep you informed if this bill percolates back up. However, other school challenges persist. Newly elected, pro-parent school board members in Michigan face relentless hostility from leftest, establishment control mongers. In Rochester, the district settled a $190,000 claim over a deputy superintendent’s false accusations against a protesting parent and trying to get her fired. Similarly, Robert Wojtowicz, elected to the Chippewa Valley board, (seen here) encountered hostility, and resistance from the superintendent and other board members, for simply wanting to do his job and oversee activities such as school safety practices. We must support these heroes. These candidates are taking up a great responsibility to save our kids and help them achieve a great education without leftist indoctrination.
The Democrats psycho, control-freak, insanity has no limits. Now they want to force control over the homeschool families using, as an example, the complete failure of Governor Whitmer’s out-of-control foster care system! Michigan’s childcare system is a crash and burn disaster for foster care Children. My wife and I were foster care parents. I have been addressing this monstrosity for years from the House and Senate floors. You CANNOT homeschool foster care children. They must go to public schools. Because the state was not monitoring the foster care parents in this State Rep’s example-they were not in school. Whose fault is this? The fault is the complete, rotted-through Democrat governance of foster care! I have put in many reform bills and amendments to straighten out, and to create transparency, within the worst in the nation, childcare system. Every Bill & amendment I put in gets shot down by the Democrats to prevent any of their dirty laundry from spilling out into the public. Michigan has the longest running federal court case in the nation against our childcare system-going back to 2006. The Democrats are trying the old shift and shaft; the old “look at this hand, pay no attention to that hand”, approach to concealing their horrific treatment of kids in Michigan. To deflect from their rotten cesspool of the system they turn to attack the homeschool parents. Here are the real facts the Democrats and their handmaidens in the media don’t want you to know: Truancy Rates in Michigan: Truancy: If a student is absent for more than 18 days in a 180 day school year. “During the 2022-23 school year, 30.8% of Michigan students were chronically absent. “The Detroit Public Schools Community District, which has long struggled with high rates of chronic absenteeism in the 2022-23 school year was 66.11%, Child abuse; Homeschool/ Private/ Public Schools: “In a study of the transmission of culture, religion, and affinity for four school choices to adults who were homeschooled, public schooled, and private schooled, Ray (2015, 2022) asked one question – “Were you ever sexually abused before age 18?” – of the representative sample of U.S. adult participants. “Those who attended public school were 2.57 times more likely (with statistical significance) to have been sexually abused than the homeschooled, those who attended Christian school were 2.11 times more likely (with statistical significance) to have been sexually abused than the homeschooled, and there was no statistical difference between the sexual abuse experience of those who attended non-Christian private schools and the home educated”” “At this point, there is little evidence that public schooled or private schooled children are abused, neglected, or otherwise maltreated at any higher or lower rate than the homeschooled.” Homeschooling/ public schools – testing: “According to the National Home Education on Research Institute, home learners typically achieve test scores 15 to 25 percentile points higher than public school students on standardized academic achievement tests. They also score higher on the SAT and ACT exams and are increasingly recruited by colleges and universities.” #homeschool See below for some more information: https://t.co/qxHxkv55fk
