Today, the Texas House passed my bill, HB 130, on second reading — a major step forward in safeguarding the genetic privacy of Texans. HB 130 ensures that foreign adversaries like the Chinese Communist Party can’t gain access to Texan genomic data by banning the use of foreign adversary genomic sequencers in our medical and research facilities. This bill also requires that genomic data be stored right here in the United States — not shipped overseas where it can be exploited by hostile regimes. Texas is leading the way in protecting our citizens, our innovation, and our national security. I’m proud to carry this critical legislation. #txlege
