@edercampuzano @RyanTClarke As a woman of color I cannot emphasize how dangerous this is for students and their safety. This is censorship. This is racism. This is homophobia. As chair of the House committee on education I will do everything I can to protect students come this next session. #orleg #orpol

@hborrud It's disappointing The Oregonian keeps pushing this false narrative. Students still have to prove they can write & do math to graduate. This bill addresses equity in how we measure student success & included a diverse coalition of ed advocates. #orleg #orpol 🧵/1

@hborrud As chair of the House Education Committee and the leg's first Indigenous Latina lawmaker, I helped chief sponsor and pass several pieces of landmark legislation this year, including HB 2590, the Task Force on Student Success for Underrepresented Students. /3
@hborrud What's more, this article states that lawmakers 'did not pass any major expansion of learning opportunities or supports' for BIPOC this year. That's completely false. /2

@hborrud Thank you. However, this statement lacks context. The Student Success Act provides ongoing, yearly support & targeted funds for BIPOC students. And we passed a record $9.6B in Ed funding w/ $250m in summer learning programs with targeted investments for BIPOC students.
