As weather grows more unpredictable, I proposed an amendment to extend the Cold Weather Rule to protect families from having their heat turned off from Oct 1-April 30, just a 15 day window extension on either side. Again, the senate GOP voted it down.
What we heard today in the Senate Housing Committee is that Minnesotans' need for rental assistance is ongoing. With the federal money gone, the legislature needs to step up to build a sustainable program to keep families in stable homes.
