Credit to Governor @AsaHutchinson for how he handled the meeting that morning. I was there. He called on all of us to push back against myths and lies about refugees. #ARpx https://t.co/N1qyWLVsfz

Not one lawmaker who challenged Governor Hutchinson today represents Washington County, the only county to date that has agreed to welcome refugees. I thank the governor for calling on us all to dispel unfounded fears and myths regarding refugees. #ARleg https://t.co/meOmOeKZqO

Absolutely. Its presence there is hurtful, embarrassing, and inexcusable. Weve heard time and again that people are working to secure its removal, but times up. Its got to come down. https://t.co/3GlxeF4AKT

Sheltering in place, so I’m just gonna retweet my colleague who doesn’t seem to believe we’re gonna build a 3,000-bed prison for just $470 million. Does sound like a bit of a bargain when you look around. https://t.co/4khfcrvKoa

The US has successfully evacuated 82,300 people out of Afghanistan in just the last 11 days, and nearly 88,000 since July. Nineteen thousand people—enough to pack Bud Walton Arena—were evacuated in just 24 hours across August 24 and August 25. Credit to those making it happen. https://t.co/JtppxBwmMD

Two things: - Candidates don't have to live in the middle of their districts. They can (and often do) live near a border. - That you might live near a candidate but not be in their district isn't a sign of gerrymandering; it's how borders work. Go vote, Senate District 7!

According to @politico, White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows called Governor Hutchinson to encourage him to issue a shelter-in-place order. https://t.co/c6sByhFg5l

Governor @AsaHutchinson just told the room that the greatest antidote to fear is the truth. He was talking about possible concerns regarding the #2020Census, but it could as easily apply to his decision to allow refugees in #Arkansas. #ARpx

Regarding refugees in #Arkansas: - Were one of 42 states that will welcome refugees. Only Texas has said no. - The number of refugeesa group of people more thoroughly vetted than any other that enters the USwill be small; likely no more than 50 to 70 at most. (1/4)
