Arkansas shouldn't be a right-to-work state. Arkansas should be a state where workers can form unions, and where those unions can thrive. Arkansas should be a state where unionized workers can push for stronger wages, better workplace policies, and greater work-life balance.

A lawmaker at this morning's ALC meeting expresses concern that some Arkansans might be receiving more money in unemployment benefits than they'd make at their jobsas though that's the greater concern than the idea that many Arkansans can't earn a living wage.

That Arkansans counting on Pandemic Unemployment Assistance might not receive payments until the end of May is absolutely unacceptable. Other states have figured it out. Arkansas has failed.

Not only is Arkansas one of just 15 states not making Pandemic Unemployment Assistance paymentsand not only might it be days more before its able to make any such paymentsit also might have exposed the sensitive data of about 30,000 Arkansans. Just an inexcusable catastrophe.

If you work at a prison in Arkansas, and you tested positive for Covid-19, and youve been told to return to work after 10 days, Id like to hear from you.

It's a strike, not a boycott. The playersas well as players in the WNBA, MLB (!), and other leaguesare withholding their labor, not their spending. It's an important distinction, because it shows the players' power as workers. It's a big thing, and it matters. https://t.co/YlZKKGIrPc

As for <U+201C>jobs aplenty,<U+201D> it<U+2019>s true our unemployment rate<U+2019>s low right now<U+2014>and that<U+2019>s great!<U+2014>but so many Arkansans have to work more than one job to make rent. Just don<U+2019>t know why we wouldn<U+2019>t take all available opportunities to help Arkansans facing housing challenges. (2/2)

Its clear these companies arent doing enough to protect workers. As of Friday, poultry workers accounted for more than 13 percent of all known cases of Covid-19 in Arkansas. https://t.co/Wn4seI0ec5

Plant manager Tom Hart organized a cash-buy-in, winner-take-all, betting pool for supervisors and managers to wager how many plant employees would test positive for COVID-19. While ignoring worker safety, they bet money on how many would get sick. https://t.co/DhWnx6oAT3
