We did this in this in Massachusetts by using ARPA Dollars. We are now reinvesting in the program because it created access to generational wealth moderate income families. We provided up to 35k or 50k depending on income levels and the results were very positive for the 1134 first time homebuyers who participated. Might want to examine some of the literature and actual examples of down payment assistance success before you knock it. Your hypothetical scenario doesn’t compare to the impact of these programs when you invest in them.
This type of performative bullshit is bush league. A 1 bedroom apartment cannot legally house a family that has children. Governor @andrewcuomo how were you a Government official so long and don’t know how the occupancy works for families works with voucher programs? There’s nobody occupying a 1 bedroom apartment that is displacing a homeless family with children. As a matter of fact we need more of these types of options for people that are Zohran’s age. It will actually allow them to save for homeownership. Young people are the ones fleeing the Northeast because of how unaffordable New York City. These cheap negative attacks on Twitter are not going to save your failed candidacy.
