5 million people die worldwide each year from climate change. That number is only going to grow as we continue to see rising sea levels, droughts, and extreme weather and temperatures. Not to mention the global economic and humanitarian impacts of climate change as well. (2/4)
Don't get me wrong, I believe taking care of the earth and her resources is just the right thing to do on its own. But the urgency of action lies in the fact that humans, and not just the environment, also suffer grave effects of climate change and a polluted earth. (3/4)
