No rolling blackouts in CA, despite epic heat wave. Fox News will have to save its schadenfreude for another time. A key reason CA avoided rolling blackouts: Our huge investment in clean energy storage, to the tune of 3,300 mw. Clean energy helped save the day. It's the future.

California is in a deep energy crisis. We must move away from fossil fuels. We also need dramatically more electricity from clean sources. This year, the Legislature & Governor made some of the largest investments in clean energy in California history. We<U+2019>ll get it done.

Today Im introducing legislation to force PG&E to become a publicly owned utility. PG&E has failed. Its failed on safety & reliability. PG&E has forfeited its privilege to operate as an investor-owned monopoly in California. Time for a new approach. https://t.co/bbJIRB0Y9G

.@GavinNewsom just signed into law our bill to expedite approval of solar & energy storage systems! SB 379 requires cities to implement app-based automatic permitting for basic solar & storage. Clean energy is key for CA<U+2019>s future. We need to roll it out faster. This will help.

As we enter 2020, theres the matter of PG&E, a failed investor-owned utility. PG&E should be publicly owned. CA already has large & successful publicly owned electric utilities. SF, for a century, has successfully run major utilities: water, sewer & electric. We can do this.
