Spoke on #Ukraine with the MIRS team today on my House Resolution condemning the Russian invasion. A couple interesting discussion points: https://t.co/SxkNCG9BAF

First of all, this war is not a <U+201C>both sides have good points<U+201D> kind of conflict. It<U+2019>s an unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation. If we turn a blind eye to that, Taiwan is next, etc. Supporting Ukraine & peace is not a controversial take.

Second, my father was born many years ago in Moldova and his family left because war was coming. So it feels personal, and I believe that the more Representatives and leaders who speak out, the better and the more momentum can build toward sanctions and pushback.

Finally - in the age of Twitter and phones, there is less <U+201C>fog of war<U+201D> and more accountability. Putin quite obviously didn<U+2019>t recognize that the images of death and the invasion would inspire so much fallout and support for Ukraine. The modern war is live streamed.
