Unfortunately our good friend Mayor Kawakami has gone a bit overboard by withdrawing from the State's Safe Travel Program. Better he had stuck to his earlier plan requiring 2nd and 3rd tests after passengers arrive on Kauai - so at least a few small businesses there can survive.
The 5,000 containers that are enroute to Hawaii on any daily basis continue uninterrupted- SO HOARDING NOT NECESSARY says special House Committee members at Hawaii State Capitol compromised largely of Hawaiis larger industries and non-profit organizations.
Good news from the White House and Federal DOT today suggesting there is no regulation in existence at the FAA or DOT that either grants or denies Hawaii from requiring passengers be Covid-19 tested prior to landing here. This is a green light to Gov to open our visitor industry.
Why are we not temperature checking every international traveler (including Americans) arriving from overseas at the Honolulu International Airport?!
