I truly want to honor our retiring members too. Their service has been outstanding. However, a state full of graduating seniors have been told they cant have an in-person ceremony. I understand why political leaders say Were all in this together. In terms of the virus, its true. But I understand those that resent that statement. Their job is gone, losing it all. When record unemployment is paired with record stock market highs, were not together.
I keep seeing stories & blogs about how you can finally do more with all this time: start a side hustle, learn a language, landscape, be more productive than ever, etc etc. Its all just horse hockey to me. Your only job is to muddle through & help who you can along the way.
I know it's an exception among many but I've been pushing for lawn care & lawn maintenance folks to go back to work as long as it's done individually (not in close proximity teams). Small way we can get more people back to work.
Since 1944, the DFL has pushed progressive policies & looked out for workers. Founding member, Hubert Humphrey, pushed civil rights when others said "not now." He held the steadfast support of labor & farmers. We can & should win people back. Leaving, giving up, won't do it. https://t.co/2mVJyFBbHM

@mthesimon I think making it easier to be a provider, and easier to pay providers that are considered employees could be a start. Tax and regulation policy could help increase availability. A paid leave system would help w first year. Mel, not sure why youre against looking at changes.
