Preparing an amendment for FY20 supplemental budget to ensure all MO school districts continue receiving state funding should they decide to close in order to slow the spread and flatten the curve of #COVID19. It will be offered Wednesday, when the full House convenes. #moleg

I find it highly disrespectful for many of my #moleg colleagues on the Joint Cmte on Ed to come to our city, disobey our city's mask ordinance in a city building in order to trash our schools, our superintendent, and our school board.

Shoutout to Missouri's mayors, county/municipal leaders, local school officials, and others for stepping up to fill a void. Your leadership and work to flatten the curve of #COVID19 is appreciated and is not going unnoticed.

State lawmakers have punted tough pandemic decisions to local leaders. Then they have the audacity to come to Columbia, trash our schools, demean our volunteer school board members, for decisions made in a very difficult situation. Pathetic. #moleg

We know masks reduce transmission. We know that in-seat learning, when done safely, is ideal. The decision to not enact a statewide mask mandate in schools is detrimental to public health, learning, and our economy. Requiring masks in schools is a no-brainer. #moleg

Missouri's statutory minimum salary for teachers is $25,000 per year. It's been that way for 14 years. And, it's a driving factor in why so many school districts are moving to a four day school week. We have to address this issue in 2020.

The leadership class I've been teaching ended this week. If there's one thing I try to leave the students with it's this: Doing what's right is always the right thing to do.

The Governor should do the right thing and mandate masks in schools. Stop leaving the decision up to local school boards, who are receiving death threats for even considering school mask mandates. He needs to step up and lead on this issue. #moleg https://t.co/DvOdLdBVu6

Masks should be required in every school in Missouri. There is no good reason for them not to be mandated in schools.
