@AP4Liberty Not good enough. The problem is that the Tier 1 networks are still ultimate gatekeepers. Unless you're prepared to lay transatlantic cables as well as underground fiber domestically, there's always another layer to depend on. And wireless would be near impossible to do legally.

@vroman_robert Well sort of. A more and more common issue is when they lock down the hardware such that you can't replace components without special tools or software that they then don't make available to the public. There's also instances of items being disabled if 3rd party parts are used.
