As I shared, our office (& others) are working on a solution to the potentially exorbitant energy bills due to the incompetence and malfeasance of ERCOT and others. In the meantime, I'd encourage everyone to take yourself off of automatic bill pay with your provider.

BREAKING: “We are completely back to normal operations as of now.” ERCOT CEO Bill Magness. According to the ERCOT website, “There is enough power for current demand.” Haven’t seen that in several days. Celebrating this good news with our new friend in the front yard! 🙂 https://t.co/MoReGtqvj9

Really is sad isn’t it? He needs to help further unleash the oil and gas industry here in Texas. https://t.co/XhfizMy4CL

This is great progress overnight. But, still have many more homes that need power. Glad to see things moving in the right direction though. https://t.co/GEKfyCjIox

Last report I received from Oncor indicated that 17k homes were without power. These outages are primarily in NE Dallas County and NE of the Metroplex. You can find more information and updates here: https://t.co/rDvTvWU0Jh Stay safe and warm out there!

Our office is working on legislation right now to keep this kind of thing from happening. And ERCOT and other energy providers are on notice we are watching and expecting them to act appropriately. https://t.co/XNQgsm7m1i

Just when you think ERCOT couldn’t mismanage this situation any further, they go and do something like this - raising energy prices on consumers because of their incompetence. One constituent said their bill looks to be 1800%(!!!) higher b/c of the storm. https://t.co/XNQgsm7m1i

In just a few minutes, the State Affairs & Energy Resources Cmtes will be holding a joint hearing regarding the winter storm & its handling last week. This is the first of many hearings into the matter. You can watch the livestream of the hearing here: https://t.co/CEdjOFuMrm https://t.co/R0MS9IZId3

Below is the morning update from Oncor. The big takeaway: As a result of the increased generation and stable demand, Oncor has since been able to cease controlled, or rotating, outages. There are still about 150k w/out power. But the progress continues. https://t.co/eK6XNC6pdW

Border security and energy security are both critically important for Texas. We can (and should) be focusing on both. Grateful for leaders like @chiproytx working on and providing solutions. https://t.co/Sj6OYPUx7h
