My statement on the lack of a remote option for the 2021-22 school year: "The lack of a remote option for students as we approach the school year is troubling, but there is still time for @NYCSchools to revisit this issue.

I believe, as @NYCMayor does, that our kids have to be back in school. But that should be a goal, not a mandate. Some of our families require flexibility to survive. Their voices need to be heard & their circumstances must be considered.
I respectfully urge @NYCMayor and @NYCSchools to reconsider their current position."
Tonight’s debate showed exactly why I’m proud to endorse @mayawiley for mayor! Bringing trauma informed care to our schools & properly mitigating childhood trauma will ensure that we don’t lose a generation of kids to the trauma they have endured, both b/c of & prior to COVID-19
Im grateful to @NYCMayor for reevaluating school closures and putting some schools on track to open 12/7 w/priority to our youngest and disabled students. However the current plan leaves out all disabled students beyond 5th grade who arent in a D75 school, which is unacceptable https://t.co/ZjUYHaRue3
