I’m proud to announce that the Senate unanimously approved my bill to reform our unemployment system and give more Floridians aid when catastrophe strikes. https://t.co/FWA52ucDO2

The current state unemployment benefit is simply unlivable. We're fighting to raise the unemployment benefit to $375 per week because Floridians need assurance that when disaster strikes, they have a chance to get back on their feet. https://t.co/X3DoKecNch

Unemployment is for Americans seeking work but unable to find it. Restoring the work search requirement will help fill the artificial labor shortage. https://t.co/bF9d1vpQgB

@NewsGuyGreg @JeffWeinerOS For all eligible workers, the max payment is $275/week. Federal add ons are in the CAUW, which extended the PUA, PEUC, and FPUC. It also created the ARPA. Then the LWA. I can’t believe there’s confusion... An individual could have received $41,975 from 3/29/2020 - 9/6/2021.

@NewsGuyGreg @JeffWeinerOS Florida - like most states - uses the “high quarter method.” It calculates the weekly benefit amount by looking at the qtr with the highest earnings during the base period. The weekly wage is calculated by dividing the highest qtr earnings by 13 (because there are 13 weeks/qtr.)

@NewsGuyGreg @JeffWeinerOS Then the benefit amount itself is calculated by taking 1/26 of the high quarter (or half the weekly high wage.)
