Tennessee Valley Authority wants to move its toxic-laden coal ash from Memphis to another location, and says Bishopville in South Carolina is one its options. NO FREAKING WAY. I cosponsred a bill today with Sen. @ThomasMcElveen to block any such move. https://t.co/tpZjDUrB9h

Ok, a brief bee update: With the guidance of a professional apiarist, the bees are being coaxed to leave the hive thats beneath our law firms roof and to move to a new hive placed alongside; a queen will be used to lure any holdouts. Once fully gathered, theyll be relocated. https://t.co/OYLficnKJo

.@thestate: If one thing distinguishes Tom Davis from many Republicans in the S.C. Senate, its his support for the environment in a state where big business is king. https://t.co/sMHmGYQ3EX

My extraordinarily talented brother, Dan Davis, built a birdhouse for purple martins at our familys lake house on Seneca Lake in upstate New York; it was hoisted via pulleys last week and bolted in place, and Im pleased to report market demand by area birds has been robust https://t.co/nJTvDLK2KC

The honey bee sagas denouement: Our apiarist is "vacuuming up" (sounds harsh, but I'm assured it's de rigueur and humane) bees who refused to transfer allegiance to the new queen; they and those that did will now be relocated to more suitable environs. I miss them already & https://t.co/c0jVvFPyBx

Went by just now to take a look at the two climate-controlled tents that Beaufort Memorial Hospital has placed outside its emergency room. https://t.co/t56l9AdJ0g

Though blocked from their hive underneath our law firms roof, the honey bees eschewed the nice new home that was placed nearby. So a new queen bee has been recruited and ensconced in those new digs. Ah, that slim thorax, that long abdomen ... its only a matter of time now! https://t.co/y89skB8CVh

.@WJCLNews: Last summer at Abel Contractings facility in Okatie, 120,000 cubic yards of combusting debris towered 90 feet high and billowed toxic smoke; now, the few yards that remain will be gone by the end of next week. Great way to start the new year! https://t.co/RJvfyRZaIL

Honey bee update: An inverted cone placed by the apiarist allows bees to exit the hive but not reenter (sort of like with a crab trap) and the bees, thus thwarted, turn to the artificial hive placed nearby; apparently, instinct drives them there (like cats and litter boxes). https://t.co/4mE7bmPizZ
