Wanna bet? Today the ND House will consider 6 pieces of legislation that expand gaming. Proponents say online gambling is being done anyway, so let’s tax & regulate it. Opponents say a gaming expansion will hurt the tribal communities & charities that rely on gaming proceeds.
The bill is also "anti-business" & could cost us tourism $$, says Charley Johnson of FMCVB. "In a year when a pandemic devastated the hospitality industry, the last thing we need is a new law that throws fresh roadblocks in the way of attracting sports tourism to communities."

The ND House passed a bill funding a grant program to help rural grocery stores form cooperative buying & hub-and-spoke delivery models. This gives consumers more choice + savings & keeps small towns thriving by keeping grocery stores open (SB2273). Glad to co-sponsor this one.
Gov. Burgum has extended the executive order that closed restaurants, bars, gyms, personal care businesses, etc., through April 20 - another 2 weeks. Keep ordering take-out from your favorite restaurants!
ND Governor orders bars/restaurants to close in-person dining from noon Friday through April 6, although take-out is ok. Gyms & movie theaters must also close.
