Stopped by an East Nashville church that was missing one of its sanctuarys four walls. Told the pastor I was sorry for his church. He replied: Our church is fine. Its just our building needs some work.
In college I called up John Lewiss office to interview him for a paper I was writing on Selma. Surprisingly he met with me & spent an hour talking Selma, Nashville & the South. This legend of a man gave so freely of himself, changing lives, always for the better. Rest his soul.
