Today was the first hearing of the Energy Resources Committee this session, continuing my role as vice chair. Texas must remain energy dominant—leading in innovation, independence, and reliability. Energy isn’t partisan; it’s a Texas issue, and I'm committed to keeping our state strong. #txlege
I am pleased and honored to announce that Speaker @DadePhelan has appointed me to serve on the Energy Council. The Energy Council is a non-partisan legislative organization founded in 1975. The organization was formed to provide a forum for state legislators to address energy policy. Today the participating states include West Virginia, Mississippi and Alabama to the East and Colorado, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, and Alaska to the West. It allows legislative policymakers to maintain a dialogue and learn more about energy issues of importance to their states, citizens, environment and revenue base. In recognition of the continental nature of energy markets, the Council has welcomed the Canadian Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well. #txlege
Texans deserve a grid that keeps up with our growing population — not one that fails when we need it most. That’s why I’m joining @KevinSparkstx to require ERCOT to update its Permian Basin Reliability Plan every 5 years. A stronger grid isn't just important today, it's vital for Texas' future.
