The cost of not resolving our fiscal situation is greater than the costs of solving it. We’ve lost 50,000 in out outmigration over the last eight years. It’s good to see the working group covering the solutions (and doing it in such an amiable way). #akleg https://t.co/ujmHX9UWAN

What it does do: -Allows, but does not mandate, the Governor to require airport testing of all nonresidents coming to Alaska. 21% of Alaska's workers are nonresidents. 2.2 million visitors came to Alaska in 2019. In 2020, airport testing found 3,000 cases. This is essential. 2/4

@annezinkmd @dirtyshill I appreciate the effort to be transparent. It would be helpful to have the number of new cases for nonresidents available on the dashboard as well as cumulative current cases. Hopefully that can make it into an update of the dashboard given the # of new cases among nonresidents.

@sea_changer @UrbaniteAlaska @JonathanFlora3 Department of Labor’s “Trends” magazine article on migration points out 8 years of net out-migration on page 5. We’ve lost ~50,000 more people than we’ve gained in migration. Failure to address our fiscal situation is having a real impact on our state. https://t.co/eMOFzUyGZL
