That said, maybe one day we can see folks do the right thing even when they're not about to retire.

Proud to be promoted to Major. We had Avery do the honors. To everyone I've served with on this journey, thank you. The opportunity to serve with all of you continues to be one of the greatest joys and honors of my life. https://t.co/mdxce8QyNU
Breaking: The head of NCs unemployment insurance system has been replaced - effective immediately. Too many people have been waiting for too long for relief. We are serious about making this system work for people.
Two things Ive been working on this week: - How to modernize NCs unemployment insurance system - How to push high-speed internet out to more families and communities Updates from me on both next week.
Right now there are tens of thousands of North Carolinians who have never worked harder - or at greater personal risk - than they're working right now. These people are HEROES. They deserve all the tools they need to succeed on our behalf, but they also deserve our thanks.
Federal unemployment benefits will expire this weekend - unless Congress acts. These people are out of work through no fault of their own. We cant pull the rug out. This should be an easy, bipartisan decision. Support these people.
Yang isnt going to be the nominee. But I respect how hes elevated the discussion about how the automation tsunami is already hitting our workforce. You cant have an honest economic agenda without acknowledging that.
The first item of our North Carolina Agenda rolls out tomorrow. In almost every county, we heard about hourly workers being paid too little, with too few protections, and being mistreated. Hourly workers *need their own agenda.* Tomorrow, they’ll get one from our campaign.
There are many things that need to happen that won't happen until the General Assembly is back in session (example: expanding unemployment insurance). But right now we're not scheduled to go back until April 28 - over a month away. We can't wait that long. #ncpol #ncga
The basic bargain in America is supposed to be hard work in exchange for being able to provide for yourself and your family. But when you listen to workers — in particular, the 2.3m North Carolinians who get paid by the hour — you see that the basic bargain has broken down.
