As of March 14 at 8:00 a.m., the state of North Carolina has a total of 680 public (i.e., non-commercial) #coronavirus test kits. So the big question is, Why dont we have more tests? Heres the situation:
BREAKING: **ALL** adult North Carolinians will be eligible to receive the vaccine on April 7. When you can, please get your shot.
I still remember the smell from the burn pits in Afghanistan. Hits you right when you wake up. 25 GOP Senators just reversed their support from June and blocked the bill to get veterans better care for their exposure to those fumes. As a vet, this is absurd. Pass the bill.
BREAKING: Medical marijuana passes NC Senate, 35-10. Goes to House. Prospects uncertain.
When I have constituents respond to my emails about vaccine distribution with angry notes about the virus being a joke and not worthy of their concern, I just think about the people who have worked so hard to mislead them. And how many of them are in Congress.
The big question: "How bad will the coronavirus be in NC?" Theres a new estimate and I want to share it with you - not because Im certain its completely accurate, but because its the best effort thats been made public and it gives us at least a sense of what were in for.
July 1st = 300 Covid cases in NC August 1st = 3,300 Covid cases in NC We’re hitting exponential growth again - and it’s completely unnecessary. If you’ve decided against vaccination, please speak to your doctor about that and reconsider. For you and for all of us.
We now have 246 positive cases in NC. That's an increase of 109 cases from yesterday - a nearly 80% increase in one day. BUT we also had a 60% increase in testing yesterday, from 3242 to 5,276 tests conducted (that includes our state lab and hospitals and commercial labs).
A friend, Cat Williams (@dizzycatdesign), just began her double-lung transplant. She has cystic fibrosis and has been on oxygen for three years, with lung capacity down to 20%. Surgery just started. When she wakes up, I'd love for her to see all the love we can possibly send.
