Friends; It's very disappointing and disheartening to start this Special Session without a mention of a Teacher's Pay Act! With a $1.6 billion surplus, it's an abject failure of leadership not to address it. I am going to keep fighting for our Teachers, staff, and future!

Here is my issue with ill-informed comments like this. You blame the school when it is not the school's issues. You need not blame anyone but hold accountable those who are charged with economic and community development in these zipcodes. A lack of opportunity in communities https://t.co/rGP9kTwx6U

Leads to schools that have students that are not as prepared as students in other zipcodes. Why do you think they can go to other zipcodes and learn. Improve the schools and improve the communities, and students can thrive everywhere. Every school should be a school of choice!
Healthy schools are part of a community. Healthy communities begin with opportunities for people to go to work and make a good working wage. If we improved the economic health for communities of color, you would see schools improve dramatically. Make this your next Exec Order!

When students are not in school, how do they complete their homework? We must address the Homework Gap to ensure ALL kids are getting the support and educational tools they need to get a quality education. #SLCNashville #TeamLove2022 https://t.co/53GrLXg8Fq
