Broadband internet access was named an emergency item for this session, and through HB 5, we are creating a statewide plan to get more Texans online!
High speed internet access is essential for business, education and healthcare. With HB 5 signed into law, broadband will become more accessible for Texans.
Data is the new oil, and we have to defend it. Our budget commits $2.2 billion to cybersecurity, replacing legacy systems and upgrading information technology.

As we saw with the recent pipeline ransomware attack, cyber hacks present a clear and present danger. My SB 475 strengthens our cyber defenses and protects sensitive data held by state government. Glad to see it is advancing in the House. Let's keep Texas cyber strong!
