RT @DanyMacILC: So you want to talk about learning loss? Let’s start with how state testing will take an entire week of instruction.
I have often stood in the Hawaii State House in lonely defense of @HIDOE808_DrK. I am deeply disturbed by the appalling lack of compassionate leadership reflected in this public statement attacking teachers. I am done. https://t.co/fSFD9YvyO0
Union activist teachers are running for office in Hawaii. In 2020, as far as I know, there are at least 4. Why? The concerns being brought to the legislature by teachers are not being addressed. We know that starvation & gutting of public schools, along w/overtesting, hurts kids.
HAWAII TEACHERS. Which Democratic gubernatorial candidate is ready to be the partner we need on the other side of contract negotiations? @kaikahele HNN Super Debate (15:30) And this: https://t.co/UByuzl9im7 It'll blow your mind. LET'S ELECT A GOVERNOR WHO GETS IT.
Query: is now a good time to tackle the Hawaii teacher shortage crisis? Tourism is mortally wounded. Wouldn't it be productive to use CARES Act funding to ramp up Grow Our Own program, to bring highly educated, community grounded local leaders into the classroom? @HSTAvoice
@HIDOE808_DrK I am appalled. Everyone with whom I have spoken supports the teachers' advocacy on the basis of safety and public health. I had parents and kkpuna contacting me at all hours panicking about your failure to protect our children - NO ONE supports your approach.
TEACHERS IN HI<U+2026> we finally have a gubernatorial candidate for HI who listens to those closest to the issue to address the what, why and how of problem-solving. https://t.co/Xk9S9NhjRW
Interesting twist in Hawaii education politics: @HIDOE808_DrK takes bold steps to address teacher shortage crisis and legislature's reaction looks petty and mean-spirited to teachers. Have teachers finally gotten a educational leader as a superintendent? It seems possible.
Wow! Almost 43,000 students have registered so far in Hawai<U+2019>i for Kids Voting! Let<U+2019>s do this! If you are a teacher and want to register your Ss, send me a message and we<U+2019>ll get your students set up to vote in our general election. K-12, all schools.
